Edward “Ward” Mungo
Edward “Ward” Mungo is the Principal and Founder of Ward Mungo Companies, a South Carolina-based development firm focused on creating impactful workforce housing and adaptive reuse projects. A graduate of Wofford College (Class of 2012), Ward brings more than a decade of experience in real estate investment, finance, and project execution. His leadership emphasizes disciplined deal-making, community alignment, and innovative approaches to public–private partnerships. Ward is deeply committed to addressing housing challenges across the region by delivering projects that balance financial strength with communities where families can thrive. He previously served as President of the Charleston Homebuilders Association and remains active in organizations including Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), Urban Land Institute (ULI), and United Way, reflecting his commitment to both industry leadership and community service.
Michelle Davis-Crowell
Michelle Davis-Crowell is the Chief Operating Officer of Ward Mungo Companies. A graduate of Charleston Southern University and Columbia College, Michelle brings extensive experience in corporate operations, finance, and accounting, as well as project development and closeout. In her role as COO, she oversees company-wide strategies and ensures that projects are executed with efficiency and long-term community impact. Michelle is deeply committed to building stronger communities and providing stakeholders with the confidence and assurance they deserve in every development.
MJ Biener
MJ Biener is an Operations Associate at Ward Mungo Companies, where he focuses on streamlining development processes and ensuring projects move seamlessly from concept to completion. A graduate of the College of Charleston, he studied entrepreneurship and led the Founders Club, a student-run accelerator supporting early ventures through mentorship and capital allocation. He also launched Palmetto Mentors, an independent peer program designed to strengthen student success and retention. At WMC, MJ brings a passion for relationship-building and a curiosity for learning that drive him to deepen his expertise in real estate development while advancing projects that expand attainable housing and create lasting community impact.
